How do I turn off live screen sharing or mirroring on my device?
To turn off live screen sharing or mirroring on Android devices:
- Swipe down from the top of the device screen twice to pull out the quick access function
- Type ‘Screen Cast’ or ‘Smart View or ‘Screen Mirror’ in the search bar ( Look for an icon that resembles a triangle inside 2 circular arrows or one that resembles a TV! Alternatively, tap on the gear icon on the top right corner of the quick access menu. Search for ‘screen mirror’, ‘screencast’ or ‘smart view’ in the search bar.)
- Tap and hold the ScreenCast, ScreenMirror or Smart View button to call up the relevant menu with all available devices.
- Disconnect devices by tapping on the device name.
To turn off live screen-sharing or mirroring on iOS devices:
- Swipe down from the upper-right corner if your device has FaceID enabled or else swipe up from the bottom of your device if it is Touch ID enabled to open the Control Centre.
- Tap on the ‘Screen Mirroring’ button (resembles two overlapping screens) .
- Tap ‘stop mirroring’ on the device that you are mirroring to.
An added bonus! If you prefer to disable screen mirroring completely, follow these steps:
- Tap on settings
- Tap general
- Tap automatically airPlay to TVs
- Tap never
